Elections at WULS-SGGW 2024
Ladies and Gentlemen,
An extraordinary time at the university is ahead of us, occurring once every four years – elections to the Electoral College, for the position of Rector and members of the SGGW Senate for the term 2024-2028, as well as members of university councils and discipline councils for the term 2025-2028.
This process is divided into several stages. The first will begin on February 12 and end on March 21 with the election of the Rector.
In the next step – on April 8-12 – members of the Senate will be elected – from among academic teachers, students and doctoral students.
The third stage will take place after the summer break. Members of the University Council will be elected on October 28-25. Elections to the Disciplinary Councils will take place between November 12-21.
The widest group of members of the academic community takes part in the election of the Rector. Through their representatives – electors – academic teachers, students, doctoral students, as well as administrative employees who are not academic teachers vote.
All groups of the University community take part in the Senate elections.
Candidates for members of the University Council may be nominated by the Rector and/or at least 10 members of the Senate from among the University community and from outside the University community. In the University Council consisting of 7 people, one seat is allocated to the Chairman of the Student Government.
Academic teachers take part in the elections to the Disciplinary Councils.
In connection with the significance of this celebration of democracy at the University, which takes place every four years, and its complexity, intensive communication will be conducted to all members of the academic community. Its main medium will be our internal University newsletter (regular and special editions).
